When you’re arranging preventive care

Ask what the seasonal appointment covers for your model and how it relates to the manufacturer’s service schedule. The name of the service doesn’t tell you everything included.

Mention any behavior that has changed. A booking for routine work doesn’t automatically include investigating and repairing a fault.

When something already isn’t working

Describe what happened and ask whether the appointment includes finding the cause. For example, a machine that no longer starts after storage has a current problem, even though you’re calling at the beginning of a season.

The provider may need to assess it before proposing a repair. Ask when you’ll receive an estimate and approve additional work, and how any routine care you also want will be handled.

ABOUT THIS DRAFT

The technical and safety advice in this draft still needs to be checked against the manufacturer’s instructions by a qualified reviewer. Follow your machine’s manual.
